NWSOS - ITP has been operating on Mount Hood and offering year-round open enrollment courses to the general public for the past 30 years. Our expertise in the outdoors has also provided us the opportunity for training United States Military (USASOC and varying branches, special forces, elite units, SERE instructors, and other active/reserve teams). Each course will be conducted by one of our highly skilled professional instructors in the beautiful and tranquil Mt Hood National Forest. Each course provides 80% hands on training in the field where you will truly get the chance to test your ability in a backcountry setting. We offer basic to advanced courses with durations ranging from 1-6 days.

We specialize in teaching “risk management” for outdoor applications in many of our programs. We have courses in Avalanche Safety, Backcountry Survival, Mountaineering, Navigation, and Snowmobile Safety. We also offer guided Mt Hood Summit Climbs on several different routes. Whatever your outdoor endeavor may be, we have a course that will provide you with the knowledge necessary for having a safe and enjoyable outdoor adventure.
